Industrial chimneys![]() Industrial Chimney is a vertical structure with or without a flue used for venting flue gases, smoke or waste air. Chimneys are used for places where the flue gases discharge and ventilation is necessary. When designing chimney dimensions it is necessary to find its minimal height and section in order to vent all flue gases and provide air for combustion. That is why, industrial chimneys are widely applied in all branches of industry – in power, steel and chemical industry. Taking into consideration the type of material used, industrial chimneys divides into: reinforced concrete chimneys, steel, plastic and ceramic chimneys. As for the number of devices that emit flue gases there are: one-flue and multi-flue chimneys The highest one-flue chimneys reaches 420m (Kazakhstan). Until recently one-flue and multi-flue chimneys of 300 m and 250 m were standard. However, now lower chimneys are build and have usually 100-120 m in height as a result of a common introduction of flue gases treatment. Copyright © 2007 Uniserv
